Poster Presentations
The poster presentations were a great success. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around and viewing the posters. I was a bit upset that on the day that I presented I did not have time to walk around and view other peoples posters. I presented my poster on a company called Dyyno. Dyyno is a company that allows people to broadcast videos, games, conferences and even their desktop screens across the internet. It is a very cool service because not every user has to have a dyyno account. the only person that needs the account is the person that is creating the video or posting something. The dyyno service does not require the user that is viewing to have a dyyno account. Dyyno has four different products that consumers may use. They range from free to one thousand dollars in price. I think that most students in our class would use the free account because we do not upload anything that is very large to the internet. The cheaper dyyno account is one hundred dollars a month and a lot of churches use this service to broadcast their church services across the internet. The most expensive account is one thousand dollars per month, but allows the consumer to have a video on demand account of up to 1000 gigabytes. Overall I think that dyyno is an amazing emerging technology and once the name gets out it will begin to boom. The poster presentations were very informing and I think that everyone did a great job.

Google Voice
I have been currently researching for emerging technologies that i can use for my poster presentation. There are so many technologies out that it is very hard to choose just one. I think that this one is pretty cool and I am going to research it a bit more. It is called Google Voice. The only thing that I do not like about it so far is that you can have it by invite only so far, so it might be hard to use and learn about in time for our presentations. Google Voice allows you to link your cellular phone with your google account and send and receive text messages. The system also saves your voicemails to your usernames.

Bemidji, Minnesota health Care
This is pretty wild. I was just looking through the RSS feed on my apple RSS on my laptop and came across an article. The article was talking about how mac technology can make radiology cheaper. As i read through the article a tad bit more and retained some information I recognized the hospital that the Macs were being tested in. The hospital that the macs are being tested at is the hospital that is located near my lake house in Bemidji, Minnesota. Bemidji, Minnesota is my absolute favorite place on this planet. It is pretty amazing that such a small place like Bemidji is using the high technology that a mac can provide. The doctor that is using the technology is able to look at different CT scans on multiple screens on the mac computer. The doctor is then able to text another doctor the results directly from his iphone. Here is a little more information on what the technology has to offer and the future of the technology. Enjoy.

apple eyeFI
This thing is pretty amazing. I have never heard of anything like this technology before. The EyeFi is a miniSD card that you insert into your camera. The memory card searches the surrounding areas of where you are taking you pictures and automatically geo-tags the photos. When you insert the card into your mac in iphoto, the photos are automatically sorted out into the different areas that you took them. The card offers 2GB of memory as well which is very nice and will hold a lot of pictures on it. The only downside about this EyeFi is that it is only available at the apple store.. you guys should definitely check it out.

Sesame Street Video Chatting
This week in recitation we had to complete a technology on a new technology that has yet to be released. At first my group wanted to do our pitch on Apple's new mouse technology that came out about a month ago, but this product has been in the marketplace already. We were searching around and were able to find a product that Sesame Street is coming out with that allows children to read a book with someone through a video storybook. This storybook is very neat and will be very beneficial for children who do not live in the same household as both of their parents as well as using with grandparents and such. You can find the storybook here.

When we were in class I began to use twitter between my friends socially. I did not realize that you are capable of following celebrities and such. After i found this out i like this technology a lot more. It is very fun to read what the celebs are up to and doing in their daily lives. I think that a lot of people realize that you can do this on twitter. Currently I follow John McCain, Shaq, and OchoCinco. It is pretty cool to watch OchoCinco while the NFL season is in play. You can see what cities he is in and where he is at. The celebrities are very open about their opinions on this website as well. Check out OchoCincos twitter!!
